Fit up some new half doors! Opted to go with JCR as they bend and weld the top seam of the door. We will be modifying them a bit by welding on some gussets to mount PRP half door bags.

We are trying to decide between doing monstaliner, or painting them to match the body.

Also, anyone have any good recommendations for side mirrors?

I’ll be interested to see how the bag project turns out, I isn’t have to borrow that idea for mine.  My JCR doors are painted to match my Gladiator, but in full disclosure I bought them that way for a steal of a price.

Thanks!

As for side mirrors I ended up doing the CMM Off road ones. Not cheap in any way, but the quality is amazing, easy to install, and zero vibration on the highway. I did see someone on the JL forums used a different mirror and drilled the doors for them.

TJ mirrors are definitely a good choice but I was lucky enough to get a set of these used and tried them out this weekend.

Probably not as much visibility as larger mirrors mounted on the door but they also don't stick out quite as far to be caught on those pesky trees that just come out of nowhere.

I purchased these as well!  These mirrors are excellent!!

The half doors look awesome!

I can't believe I spent all day Saturday wheeling and had no idea this thing is LS swapped! I'm an LS junkie so I am loving this, can't wait to see how it progresses!

So a few people were asking this past weekend about what is next for Galactica - and although not much has changed since spring there has been a ton of planning going on. For a sneek peak of things to come, look closely and you will likely be able to guess what will happen next!

Which shop is building the frame?

Frame is designed and built by GenRight. I wish I had the gear to build that myself but they have an entire welding fixture, all laser cut and CAD designed, to ensure everything is welded exactly where it should be. Their work and attention to detail is out of this world.

If you have never seen their Tech Talks - they are an absolute goldmine of information for new and experienced Jeepers alike! https://genright.com/tech-talk-with-tony/ https://www.youtube.com/c/GenRightOffRoad/videos

Ah figured. They do great work! I love their frame kits. Was thinking of revamping the jku at one point...
Double triangulated rear? Three link front?

2.5 kings or Fox?

If you need an extra hand doing the frame swap give me a shout.

Looking good!

Double triangulated rear - three link front - 3in king.

Eventually the front will look like this:

And the rear like this:
EXS-Rear-e1636683573330.png

But before that.... something like this has to happen!

I am not even able to fathom what this Jeep will look like when done.  But I can’t wait.  And I know it will be very well done.

I can't express how happy I am to see you guys building this rig! When the frame comes in if you need a pair of hands to help  with the body swap please let me know.  That Jeep is going to be amazing!!!!!!

It was great talking about this build at the meeting yesterday.  Such an epic build.  Can’t wait to see it at next year’s Show and Shine!
